While the A52 5G is a nice-looking gadget with several interesting features, its performance is a major concern that Samsung must fix.
The new Samsung A52s 5G is equipped with a Snapdragon 778G chipset, a 6nm module designed to replace the Snapdragon 750G found in the A52 5G. The A52s 5G does not have expandable storage, however Samsung has provided some leeway in this area.
Display and Design
The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 1080p+. A 32MP selfie shooter is housed in the punch hole camera cutout on the front.
The A52s 5G, like its A52 5G brother, contains an in-display fingerprint sensor. The camera bump on the back is also similar, with three lenses.
The phone is dust and water resistant, with an IP67 rating, and can be submerged in water for 30 minutes at a depth of less than one metre.
Storage and Internals
The phone is equipped with the latest and enhanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset, 6GB or 8GB RAM, and 128/256GB storage.
The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G comes pre-installed with One UI 3.1 and Android 11.
Cameras
As seen on the A52 5G, the primary camera combination includes a 64MP main camera with OIS and a 12MP ultrawide shooter, as well as a 5MP+5MP combo of macro and depth sensors. This system is packed with fixed-focus features, but the lack of a telephoto camera, as seen on the A72 5G, is a significant letdown. The front-facing punch-hole camera is a 32MP shooter that supports HDR and 4K video.
Pricing and Battery
The Galaxy A52s 5G’s 4,500mAh battery is designed to last a day on a single charge and supports 25W rapid charging.
The tablet will be available in the UK for the first time on September 3rd, with the regular 6GB/128GB option retailing for £410. It will be available in four different colours.
