Recently, Redmi announced its Note 9 Series in China, and now the brand has announced their first ever smartwatch. The watch is known as the Redmi watch but will most probably be launched under Xiaomi’s brand name. The glimpse of the new watch was shared by Xiaomi’s Vice President, Lu Weibing, on Weibo, which confirmed the rumors about the watch.

Redmi is Xiaomi’s price-friendly sub-brand, which is launching a smartwatch first time ever. The watch looks pretty impressive with a price friendly tag, which means that it is a good option for people looking for affordable smart watches. In China, the Redmi watch has been launched for just 299 Yuan, or approximately $45. The watch will go on sale in China from 1st December 2020.

The Redmi Smartwatch is rectangular in shape with fitness, heart rate, and sleep tracking. Most of all, the watch is available at a fantastic price with a 1.4-inch color display and comes with a 2.5D glass. The resolution of the new watch is 320 x 320 pixels. There are various color options available for the watch so the customers can choose the color of their choice. The all-new Redmi watch is available in black, white, green, pink, and navy blue colors. Moreover, customers can also buy matching silicone straps of their choice with the watch. The watch has a single button on its side; the rest of the watch is handled with the help of a touch screen. It can also be paired with the Mi Fit app on a paired smartphone and can be operated with the app as well. The watch will also allow you to access the wide array of active sport modes and comes with NFC.

Other specifications of the phone include waterproofing up to 50 mm, a heart rate monitor, and Bluetooth 5.0. This means with the help of this watch, you can also track your swimming performance along with other sports activities. Moreover, Xiaomi claims that the battery life of the watch will also be good – up to 7 days and 12 days if on low power mode. It comes with a 230 mAh. The full charge of the watch takes around 2 hours. Furthermore, the Redmi smartwatch has a GPS chip on board as well. However, at this price, you cannot expect an OLED display from the company. From the pictures, it can be seen that the watch’s UI and face make significant use of black color, unlike Apple Watches. You can have access to over 120 watch faces with the help of the Mi Fit app.

The watch will go live on sale from 1st December in China and maybe in some other parts of the world, including the USA. The all-new Redmi Watch will be for $40 on a limited time offer after its launch. However, no specific information about its international launch has been discussed yet. Now let’s see under which brand and name the watch will be launched by the company.
