If your computer system is upgraded and your computer no longer recognizes WiFi 5 GHz, although your devices remain the same, the following remedies may be useful:

  • This issue has a lot to do with your driver. We recommend that you update the network driver first. Windows 10 does not always provide the most recent version. However, you may run into this problem if your drivers are obsolete or incorrect.
  • If updating the driver fails, reinstalling the driver may be necessary. Reinstalling the driver for your wireless network device is simple.
  • This should be your last resort. The channel configuration of the router is usually in auto mode, and the default settings of routers are normally meet local requirements. When your router’s channel number changes, it switches to another country’s channel number, preventing your phone or computer from detecting 5G WiFi. As a result, manually adjusting the router channel number can cure the issue.
